The fund was created June 8, 1977, in memory of Cecile Carpenter Vorys, a 1940 graduate of Columbus School for Girls. Endowed by her husband, John W. Vorys, their children, Diane (Class of 1964), Margo (Class of 1968), John, Jeanny (Class of 1978), and her friends, the fund will provide these books in perpetuity. Katie Hollenbaugh (Class of 1996) and Yolanda Cecile Vorys (Class of 1998) are the stepgranddaughter and granddaughter, respectively, of Cecile Carpenter Vorys.
